Pregnancy

What's involved?

Being or becoming pregnant is very exciting, especially for the first time. There is a lot that you need to take into account.

The right preparation in terms of life style and nutrition, listening carefully to your own body and practical matters such as arranging the correct coverage of your health insurance, maternity care, the declaration, recognition and deportation. We guide you from the beginning to the end of your pregnancy. That way you don't have to worry about overlooking important things. We do it together, you can always rely on us. This way we keep stress out, which is very important during pregnancy.

What do we have to offer as a midwifery practice?

We attach great importance to good social guidance. We don't just look at the business/technical aspect. We are interested in the person we have in front of us. That is what makes our work so much fun. Our practice is located in Heer, but you can also visit us for consultation hours in Daalhof, Amby, Brusselsepoort and Eijsden. An ultrasound machine is also available at all these locations that the obstetrician can use.

We have office hours 6 days a week (except Sunday) and on 2 evenings.

We are proud of our high customer satisfaction and we do our best every day to give you the best care.

Pregnant, what now?

Congratulations, you are pregnant! Before the 8th week we would like to see you for an ultrasound and conversation. The intake takes place in the 10th week, during which we will make another ultrasound and ask for information about your health, that of your partner and those close to you. That way we can form a good picture of what we should pay extra attention to during childbirth. An internal ultrasound will take place before the 12th week and you will receive a form to have a blood test carried out at the hospital.

Maternity care

After giving birth, our midwife will come to your home 4 to 5 times for a postnatal check-up to check that mother and baby are doing well.

You will receive maternity care for 8 to 10 days after giving birth, whereby the maternity nurse provides care to mother and baby.

6 weeks after giving birth, we schedule a follow-up check-up at the practice to conclude your pregnancy and delivery.
